The Lighthouse is located in Gairloch, one of the most scenic parts of Scotland, on the Wester Ross coast, opposite the north of the Isle of Skye.

Given its remoteness, we strongly recommend travelling to Gairloch by car.  Public transport links are sparse. The A9 from Edinburgh to Inverness runs through the heart of the Highlands, but should be driven with care. 

The final part of the drive, from Garve to Gairloch along the A832, a well designed road running through rugged country,  should be one of the highlights of your trip.  The view down Glen Doherty to Loch Maree is widely thought to be one of the most beautiful in Scotland.
